Kanye West and Kim Kardashian want mirrored room

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s new home is inspired by the Palace of Versailles.

The couple toured the royal chateau – where they have been denied permission to marry – during a visit to Paris, France, last month and were so stricken by the famous Hall of Mirrors, they have decided to have a similar room installed into the Californian mansion they are currently having renovated.

A source said: "Kim and Kanye just loved the Hall of Mirrors when they visited Versailles.

"They both took a lot of pictures and decided they wanted a similar look in their new house.

"Their contractors have been put through their paces with constant redesign and new ideas. It’s actually Kanye who keeps changing his mind on the design and decor of the house, but they both agree on one thing — the mirrors."

The couple – who have eight-month-old daughter North together – have now asked their team to scour Europe for the perfect fittings for the room.

The source added to RadarOnline.com:

"The hunt is on to find antique mirrors.

"Kanye’s decorators are scouring archives in antique shops all over the world, focusing on the Venice, Italy area, which is renowned for mirrors."

The Hall of Mirrors features 17 mirror-clad arches – each containing 21 mirrors – that reflect the 17 arcaded windows which overlook the garden of the 17th century palace.
