Cheryl Cole’s ‘frosty’ relationship with Louis Walsh

Cheryl Cole has admitted to having a "frosty" relationship with Louis Walsh.

The 30-year-old singer, whose band Girls Aloud was once managed by the Irish music boss, says working with Louis on ‘The X Factor’ again has been difficult.

Appearing on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ – which airs on BBC One tonight (20.06.14) – Cheryl said: "It’s a little bit frosty."

Pressed further by Graham on whether ‘things were off’ between them, the singer quipped: "They were never on!"

Cheryl has reportedly refused to sit next to Louis at the judging desk – with new judge Mel B slotted between them – and even called for him to be axed when she agreed to return to the show earlier this year.

But despite her admission, the star was happy to pose for a cosy picture with Louis and Mel earlier this week as auditions kicked off.

She captioned the snap: "The judging line up for the day.. Man down!!! #wheresSimon ?! #whereswally (sic)"

Rehiring the ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ songstress was atop ‘X Factor’ boss Simon Cowell’s to-do list when he decided to return to the UK version as a judge – after the US edition was axed – and Cheryl says "there was a lot of grovelling" to lure her back to the talent competition.

Auditions for the latest series began this week and despite a three-year absence from the panel, the former Girls Aloud star has already got back into the swing of things.

She enthused: "It feels like I’ve never been away."
