Lucy Mecklenburgh tired of TOWIE mean tweets

Lucy Mecklenburgh is fed up of people slamming the ‘TOWIE’ cast’s looks on Twitter.

The reality star – who quit the show at Christmas to pursue her fitness ambitions – was glad to see her former castmate Ferne McCann sticking up for herself on the social network and defending her nose against mean tweets.

And Lucy revealed she can related to her because she has also been inundated with hurtful messages from Twitter trolls since getting her brunette locks chopped short.

She wrote in her new! magazine column: "Ferne had a rant on Twitter last week after getting fed up with people making comments about her nose. I think what she did was really brave – she could have just had a rose job but she hasn’t! I know how she feels.

"I’ve been getting comments about my new short haircut all week, with some people saying I’m not good-looking any more and that I look like an old woman. I do laugh at it, but, like Ferne, sometimes you just get to a point where you’ve had enough. You’ve just got to learn to be happy with yourself."

The svelte star has been busy catching up with her old Essex pals at Billie Faiers’ baby shower and although she cooed over the teeny clothes and toys with the rest of the girls, the experience didn’t make her long for kids of her own.

Lucy joked: "I went to Billie’s baby shower last week and it was lovely! … It was so cute, but it didn’t make me broody. It’s lovely looking at all the clothes but I’m definitely not ready to think about that yet – and I need to find a man first!"
