The Libertines announce massive Gunnersbury Park show next summer

The Libertines have announced a huge show at London’s Gunnersbury Park next summer.

The ‘Don’t Look Back into the Sun’ rockers will perform a homecoming show on August 9, 2025, where they will be joined by special guests Supergrass.

The Libertines will also be joined on the bill by Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer.

The band – comprised of Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell – said: “The old white mansion in Gunnersbury Park is in one of our favourite films, ‘The Lavender Hill Mob’, so we thought we’d bring the Eastern Esplanade mob and some spiky guitars to that Arcadian glade in West London for a good ol’ homecoming knees up.

“Look forward to seeing you there, along with our friends Supergrass, Soft Play, Hak Baker, Lambrini Girls and Real Farmer. Love Peter, Carl, Gary and John X”

Danny Goffey of Supergrass said: “We are so pleased to be involved in the Gunnersbury Park gig with The Libertines and all the other great bands playing on the night.

“Gunnersbury Park is a really amazing venue to see bands perform. We first played with The Libertines 22 years ago back in 2002 when we took the fledgling band on tour with us. Wow… time flies when you’re having fun. See you there!”

Doherty previously described how he is able to “relax” when he and the band find the right song.

The 45-year-old musician said: “But when I’m with the guys and we’re together and the songs come to us and they’re perfect, I’m able to live in the moment and relax. Ultimately, it’s me who’s in these songs. The darkest things we could say or do end up in the songs anyway. Which, when you think about it, may have been a deliberate coping tactic.”
