Noel Gallagher ‘bang up’ for Oasis hologram show as he hails ABBA Voyage ‘unbelievable’

Noel Gallagher would be “bang up” for an Oasis hologram show after being left mind-blown by ABBA’s.

With a reunion of the Britpop legends looking forever unlikely thanks to the ongoing feud between the guitarist and his arch-nemesis sibling, frontman Liam Gallagher, one way fans could experience a set by the ‘Live Forever’ hitmakers is with an avatar show.

Noel, 56 – who has been at loggerheads with Liam, 51, since Oasis split following a backstage bust-up between the pair at their final concert in France in 2009 – has made it known he is open to offers after he was “genuinely” blown away by ‘ABBA Voyage’, which has made the Swedish pop icons millions.

Speaking on his pal Matt Morgan’s podcast, he said: “I went to see that ABBA show. Have you been? It’s f***ing unbelievable.

“It was great – an hour and a half gig. It was very, very impressive. I genuinely thought at one point that the people on the stage, which were holograms, were… they looked that real that I thought they were actors, like playing. The way they walk to the stage is so realistic. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s well worth it.”

He went on: “I was very impressed by it to be honest but yeah, if anybody wants to do an Oasis one, give us a shout. I would be bang up for it. I’d say ‘great’, speak to that guy over there and then come up with a figure and then he’ll relay it to me and I’ll say either yes or no.”

The ‘Thank You For The Music’ hitmakers teamed up with an 850-strong team from Industrial Light and Magic – the company founded by ‘Star Wars’ creator George Lucas – to create digital versions of themselves for the concert, using months of motion-capture and performance techniques.

The concert experience opened on May 27, 2022, at the ABBA Arena, which is a state-of-the-art 3,000 capacity arena located at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
