Lisa Armstrong has jokingly apologised for throwing out Piers Morgan’s book.
The makeup artist left his 2005 book ‘The Insider’ among belongings cleared out from her home following her split from Ant McPartlin, and she has offered a tongue-in-cheek apology for any offence she might have caused.
In a video sent in for Wednesday’s (16.09.20) episode of ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: "Hi Piers, it’s Lisa! Really sorry about what happened yesterday with the book and the box outside my house.
"Slightly awkward, but as you can see I’ve got my own sofa and now and my name up and lights. So, it is what it is! Bye!"
Before the clip was aired, Piers had jokingly bemoaned the fact there didn’t appear to be a "custody battle" over his book.
He explained: "They were having a clear out. Ant, apparently, had gone and cleared out all the stuff he wanted to keep, taken that.
"And Lisa was now throwing out everything she didn’t need – which meant that neither of them wanted my book. There was no custody battle over my diary!"
Piers even suggested the makeup artist – who works with him on ‘Life Stories’ – and the likes of Susanna Reid owe their fame to him.
He quipped: "I always feel everyone around me, that the stardust spreads out and then you all become more famous.
"All of you … I spread the stardust, you see. Lisa was just my humble, modest, shy and retiring makeup artist."
On Tuesday (15.09.20), Piers had revealed the awkward moment he noticed a photo showing his book among Lisa’s belongings.
He said: "These are the unwanted items that neither of them ever wanted to see again. There were things you’d expect, like Craig Revel Horwood’s ‘Tales From the Dancefloor’. Wholly understandable.
"[Ant’s] Newcastle shirt. I wouldn’t want to keep them either. A Team Ant foam hand from ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’. Again, why would you want that?
"So you have all these things – and in the middle of it, you have a copy of my book, ‘The Insider’."
