Strictly Come Dancing bosses confirm Caroline Flack tribute on Best Of episode

BBC bosses have confirmed plans to pay tribute to Caroline Flack in an upcoming ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ special.

The makers of the BBC One show have announced plans to celebrate the programme’s 2014 champion – who took her own life in February, aged 40 – as part of ‘Strictly: The Best Of The Final’.

The upcoming show will relive some of Strictly’s best-ever moments, celebrating the finalists and their incredible dance routines.

The BBC has also commissioned another special called ‘Strictly: The Christmas Countdown’, which will be broadcast on BBC One over the festive period.

The show – which will be presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman – will focus on the 25 most memorable dances of all time as voted for by the viewers.

Another of the BBC’s upcoming specials will relive the nation’s favourite moments, including themed weeks from the show, such as movies or Blackpool weeks.

The special will feature appearances from the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli – as well as interviews with the professional dancers.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ bosses previously paid tribute to Caroline – who lifted the Glitterball Trophy alongside professional star Pasha Kovalev – via Twitter shortly after her death was confirmed.

At the time, a post on the show’s official Twitter page read: "The entire Strictly Come Dancing family are heartbroken to hear this incredibly sad news.

"Caroline had an infectious energy and passion for dance, she shone brightly in the Strictly ballroom every week and became an incredible champion.

"Words cannot express our sadness, she was simply one of a kind. We are sending our love to all her family and friends during this difficult time. (sic)"
