Alesha Dixon hopes Simon Cowell will be well enough to appear on the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ live shows.
The 60-year-old music mogul came perilously close to disaster when he recently fell from his electric bike and broke his back, meaning he needed to undergo a six-hour operation in the US.
Alesha, 41, told ‘This Morning’ : "I’ve not been able to stop thinking about them all. It’s absolutely horrific.
"We’re all devastated and worried about Simon, but the positive thing is that he’s in good spirits, and Lauren [Silverman] says that slowly he’s on the mend.
"I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed that, come the live shows, for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, we can hopefully have Simon on a live link because we love him."
Following his fall, Simon was unable to film the upcoming episodes of ‘America’s Got Talent’ and he’s already been replaced on the show by singer Kelly Clarkson.
But it was reported earlier this week that Simon is now back to work as he’s been answering emails.
Meanwhile, Simon was originally set to appear on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ via video link due to a clash with the US version of the programme.
The scheduling clash was linked to the coronavirus pandemic, which meant that production plans needed to be reorganised.
At the time, a source said: "Simon is gutted to not be physically there for the semi-finals, but he’ll be there virtually, casting an eye over the talent and imparting his views in every show.
"He can keep an eye on David Walliams to make sure he doesn’t get too big for his boots while Simon is in the States."
