Nic Jackman hasn’t seen Holby City script ‘in months’

Nic Jackman has not seen a ‘Holby City’ script "in months", and he has received "no news" about when filming will start up again.

The Cameron Dunn actor is unsure when he and his co-stars will resume shooting scenes for the BBC medical drama, after production was halted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "I’ve certainly had no news on that [filming starting], but I know the team have been working hard behind the scenes to get stories and scripts ready for when we can go back.

"I genuinely haven’t seen a script in months. The last thing I did was sort of in mid-March."

The star also admitted he has "no idea" where the show will go in terms of storyline, but one thing he does expect is there to be "challenges" as a result of social distancing guidelines due to the pandemic.

He added to the Daily Star Online: "I really don’t know how it’s going to work because obviously there’s so many challenges in filming a show like ‘Holby’, with the restrictions and the social distancing in place.

"And in terms of story and where it’s going to go I have no idea."

Nic’s comments come after ‘Holby’ legend Hugh Quarshie – who is the longest running star in the BBC medical drama, after appearing as Ric Griffin since 2001 – admitted in June that the show’s bosses were hoping to resume filming at the end of July.

Asked if he knows when ‘Holby’ might be "up and running again", he said at the time: "It’s not definite. We had hoped by the end of this month, but now we’re looking at the end of July.

"Everything depends on whether there is another spike, or whether we can film safely with social distancing and so forth."

Hugh’s comments came after ‘Holby’ returned to screens earlier in June, after going off air in April.
