Pete Wicks "couldn’t boil an egg" before ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
The 30-year-old reality star cooked for the first time for judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace during the BBC show, and so didn’t have any expectations going forward with the competition.
He told Metro.co.uk: "I couldn’t even really boil an egg.
"I’ve never cooked for anyone before, ever. So, John [Torode] and Gregg [Wallace] were the first people I’ve ever actually cooked for.
"I didn’t really have any hopes or delusions of grandeur, I just thought, ‘Listen, they’re gonna think I’m crap anyway.’ I [had] no expectations at all."
The former ‘TOWIE’ star was up against tennis coach Judy Murray, Olympian Sir Matthew Pinsent, broadcaster Riyadh Khalaf and former ‘Benidorm’ actress Crissy Rock in the kitchen.
But Pete was surprised that they were able to get on so well.
He said: "It was really nice because we’re all from different backgrounds. And ordinarily, [we] wouldn’t be in the same kind of social circles, or probably [even] know each other.
"We actually all got along so well, and it was really nice to spend time with different people, I think it was a great experience for everyone."
Meanwhile, Shaughna Phillips has admitted to striking up a great "chemistry" with Pete while filming ‘Celebs Go Virtual Dating’.
The ‘Love Island’ star revealed they’ve become close during their time together on the show, and the dating gurus Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson have even told her they are a good match.
She shared: "Anna and Paul have actually said to me that they think me and Pete are alike in the sense that we kind of go along with things to be nice.
"That could be a perfect chemistry! He’s probably not my type on paper, but he’s lovely!"
