John Partridge didn’t watch iconic EastEnders love triangle episode

‘EastEnders’ star John Partridge didn’t watch his iconic love triangle episode.

The 48-year-old actor’s character Christian Clarke was at the centre of the drama in 2010 as he revealed his secret romance with Syed Masood (Marc Eilliott), as the latter got married to Amira Shah (Preeya Kalidas).

Despite being at the forefront of one of the BBC One soap’s most memorable plots, John – who appeared on the show from 2008 to 2012, and again from 2014 to 2016 – admitted he has never watched the episode back.

Appearing on ‘The One Show’ on Tuesday (07.07.20), he explained: "It’s ’cause my husband is Canadian, and through that time of the year we go to Canada for Christmas and new year.

"So we just didn’t see it, we were away, and when we came back you’re up and running, you start filming again and you never get to."

John finally had a chance to watch the episode on the BBC last night (07.07.20) as it was re-aired.

‘EastEnders’ is currently broadcasting classic episodes every Tuesday, as the show is currently off air after running out of episodes following the coronavirus-enforced filming break.

What’s more, Stacey Dooley hosting spin-off show ‘Secrets From The Square’ every Monday.

In a future episode, Letitia Dean and Kellie Bright – who play Sharon Mitchell and Linda Carter respectively – will take part in a landladies special.

The actresses will appear alongside the host to look at some of the legendary Queen Vic landladies who came before them, such as Dame Barbara Windsor’s character Peggy Mitchell, and Letitia’s on-screen mother Angie Watts (Anita Dobson).

Stacey said: "We’re talking all things landladies. Letitia Dean and Kellie Bright together – they are just a scream, they are really good fun.

"I had the most brilliant afternoon with the pair of them."
