Brendan Cole ‘devastated’ by Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins exit

Brendan Cole was "devastated" to be culled from ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional was axed from the gruelling Channel 4 boot camp by former soldier Ant Middleton on Monday’s (11.05.20) episode, but felt he had more to give on the show.
Brendan said: "I was devastated and it took me a good amount of time to get over.
"A lot of people walked because they couldn’t take it but I wasn’t even close to that stage so for them to ask for my number and cull me was tough. It wasn’t easy to take but that’s showbiz!
"I still achieve a lot within the week, so I’m proud of myself for that."
The 44-year-old dancer received harsh treatment from Ant and the rest of the DS (Directing Staff) but accepted that he would be yelled at.
He explained: "I wasn’t nervous because you understand the situation and why they are acting the way they are.
"You know it’s part of what you signed up for.
"In this environment you know you’re going to get shouted at, you’re going to get beasted, so you accept it and don’t react.
"I think mentally you had to stay in that zone, remind yourself they are screaming at you for a reason and if you do better you won’t be yelled at, so they make you better."
Brendan admits it was tough to accept punishment from the hosts when someone else had made a mistake.
He said: "The hardest part to take was being yelled at when someone else hadn’t done what they were supposed to, that was tough. I can handle be screamed at if it’s something I’ve done wrong, but when it’s someone else’s fault, that’s a tough pill to swallow."
‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ continues next Monday (18.05.20) at 9pm on Channel 4.
