Sam Fox, Melinda Messenger and more to feature in Page 3 documentary

Former Page 3 glamour models Sam Fox, Melinda Messenger and Linda Lusardi are reportedly set to feature in a tell-all documentary to mark the 50th anniversary of the tabloid’s former page dedicated to topless snaps.
The tradition – which was first launched by The Sun in the 1970s, and saw a different model bare all on the third page of the newspaper – is set to be celebrated with several former stars of the page set to reveal all the secrets behind the axed weekly shrine to naked women.
The trio are to be joined by Francine Lewis and Jilly Johnson in the one-off special.
A TV insider told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "The girls owe a lot to Page 3 so they’ve jumped at the chance to be involved with this project.
"They’ll all be revealing what it was like to be part of something so iconic and how it helped their careers."
The documentary will share how the girls used Page 3 to launch careers as singers and actresses, and more.
The source added: "It will also be a celebration of the biggest stars over the years.
"We’ll find out what happened next for many of them and where they are today."
The film, which was due to start filming now but has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic – which has seen Linda, 61, battle the virus – is from Warrior Film Productions and M&N Management, who are looking for other Page 3 stars to sign up.
The programme is yet to be assigned to a channel.
The likes of Jodie Marsh and Katie Price, both 41, forged successful showbiz careers after baring all in the tabloids.
However, the explicit images didn’t go down well with everyone, with campaigns calling for it to be shut down, as critics called the images demeaning towards women and easily accessible to young eyes.
And Melinda, 49, even recently said she believes it was right that it was ditched because it had become "so outdated".
The former glamour model rose to fame by baring her breasts for The Sun’s daily photo feature but was pleased to see it scrapped by the publication in 2015 and see The Daily Star follow suit in April 2019, although they continue to run photos of models in swimwear and lingerie.
Melinda insisted in the year 2020 it is an outdated concept and she is also happy that Lads’ Mags ceased to be a trend because they had an "unhealthy" impact on female representation.
She said: "[Page Three] became so outdated, it was time to finish it. The idea of it feels quite cheesy, in fact.
"It’s the same with lads’ mags – I’m glad that they’re done because they were an unhealthy way to represent women.
"It did appeal to the teenage boy, but thanks to the internet those pictures are available anytime, anywhere now."
The blonde beauty insisted she was happy to embrace the opportunity to be a glamour model in the 90s because at the time there was "a sense of adventure".
Asked why she posed for Page 3, she explained: "Because I was offered it! I knew I’d never experience anything like it again, so I took the first job with a sense of adventure.
"I genuinely didn’t expect anything to come out of it, I thought it would just be a few pictures and that would be it. And 25 years later we’re still talking about it!
"There was no internet back then and I still can’t figure out why I became so popular. I never had a strategy. I only took the jobs I wanted to."
