Ashley Banjo felt shocked by Lisa George’s Dancing on Ice exit

Ashley Banjo is shocked Lisa George hasn’t made the ‘Dancing on Ice’ final.
The 31-year-old star – who serves as a judge on the ITV show – is gearing up to see Libby Clegg, Perri Kiely and Joe Swash in the series final, but Ashley is surprised that Lisa hasn’t made it to the final stage of the competition.
Speaking about the actress – who was eliminated two weeks ago after losing to Libby and Mark Hanretty in the skate-off – Ashley told Digital Spy: "I always felt like Lisa was a finalist, to be honest, even though I gave her a hard time.
"I think that’s because this show’s as much about the entertainment value and the creatives and the choreography as it is about the hardcore skating, and there were some weeks where it just didn’t go right for her.
"She had a couple of falls, her confidence got knocked, and the whole competition just didn’t kind of work out the right way for her, but as a skater, I always thought Lisa was one of the best from day one."
Ashley also revealed he would be "genuinely" delighted to see any of the three finalists win.
He said: "I feel like Perri has been incredible all series, so he would deserve it. He’s been top of the leaderboard.
"I think Joe has improved and he’s the most likeable person. He’s almost got the most watchable routine ever. I’d love to watch Joe again and again.
"And I think the personal hurdles that Libby has overcome and where she’s got to would also make her a vastly worthy winner. So genuinely, I feel like I’d be happy with any of them to take it home … It’s going to be a good final."
