Coronation Street’s Nathan Graham wants every angle covered in new plot

Nathan Graham thinks it’s "important" to show all sides of his ‘Coronation Street’ story.
The 28-year-old actor’s character James Bailey has come out as gay to his cobbles family, and while his on-screen dad Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) initially seems fine with the news, he starts to find it difficult to come to terms with.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, Nathan said: "Yeah, I think it was important to show that Ed, it looked like he accepted it.
"It is truthful to show that side that it’s still not accepted in some families in the world. To show him struggling with it is a good thing to highlight and point out."
The soap star – who joined the show last year as part of the programme’s first black family, the Baileys – also opened up on the importance of "representation" for all viewers.
He explained: "Now we’re here and hopefully we are doing a good job. It goes back to that thing of representation.
"When you’re watching something you want to see yourself represented, and same for James’ storyline with his sexuality."
Nathan revealed last year his newfound fame saw him recognised while helping his father out with his window and door fitting business.
He previously said: "Sometimes, if I have some free time, I’ll go out with my dad at work – he fits windows and doors.
"I was helping him on Saturday, and this man said, ‘Oh, you look like the guy off ‘Coronation Street’. So I had to fess up and tell him it was me."
