Jamie Laing ‘ready to compete’ on Strictly Come Dancing 2020

Jamie Laing is said to have told BBC bosses he is ready to compete in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ after missing last year’s competition through injury.
The ‘Made in Chelsea’ star had to pull out of the BBC Latin and ballroom show in 2019 after tearing a ligament in his foot just days before the series launch, only to be replaced by former ‘Emmerdale’ actor Kelvin Fletcher who went on to win the Glitterball Trophy.
A source said: "Jamie was devastated when he couldn’t carry on because of his nasty foot injury.
"He went through a lot of physiotherapy to get well again and now he’s completely recovered.
"Jamie has been in contact with the BBC and has confirmed he’s fighting fit and that he’s more than able to take part in the next series."
The 31-year-old reality TV star is said to be "really excited" about having another chance to compete on the programme.
A source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "Knowing he can come back and give it another shot has made him really excited."
Kelvin recently admitted he "felt guilty" about replacing Jamie on ‘Strictly’.
He said: "You know I was absolutely delighted, I was ecstatic, my family were really really excited but it’s on the back of someone else’s misfortune.
"So it was a really strange feeling because I almost felt guilty about being excited and being really chuffed to do it because you know some poor guy there was absolutely gutted that we was injured and couldn’t do it."
And Kelvin felt "quite vulnerable" on the dancefloor for the first time.
He shared: "I haven’t done any dancing before, so it was all very new and very exposing I guess, you know you feel quite vulnerable but even then I got a sense of that enjoyment, and that sense of family and what an exciting time it could be and a great journey. I know people use that word all the time but does kind of feel like a journey already."
