Leanne Amaning has been dumped from ‘Love Island’.
The 22-year-old customer services advisor was left as the only single girl during Wednesday’s (29.01.20) dramatic recoupling, and was therefore booted from the Cape Town villa.
Leanne’s eviction comes as she recently told her partner Mike Boateng – whom she had been with since the start of the show – that she had lost interest in him, and so he instead chose to couple up with Sophie Piper, leaving Leanne single.
Speaking after her dumping, she said: "Me and Mike, we didn’t work. I feel he’s justified in what he did by picking Sophie. That’s a big thing to do – it’s a bold move to make.
"But I feel like he’s disregarded the two weeks we spent together and I feel like sending me home was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but it might also be my karma for dumping him … Beforehand, we had a good connection as friends, I would have thought he would have had that loyalty with me more. But he can crack on and I’m happy for him, I want him to be happy."
And although she was "expecting" the 24-year-old police officer to choose Sophie over her, she doesn’t think their romance will last.
When asked if they have a chance romantically, Leanne said: "Oh, be serious … There’s absolutely no way! I think they’re just good friends and they’re in a friendship couple."
Now that she’s lost her chance of walking away with a share of £50,000, Leanne would like to see Jess Gale and Luke Mabbott crowned the winners of the show, although she has her eye on a few other couples too.
She said: "I would love for Jess and Luke M to win. I love Jess and Luke M! I feel like he’s one of my closest friends in there – together they’re amazing. And Siânnise and Luke T, I’ve got a lot of love for both of them. Paige and Finn, too! There’s a lot of strong couples in there!"
Elsewhere in the recoupling, Finley Tapp, Callum Jones, and Luke Mabbott all chose to stick with their partners – Paige Turley, Shaughna Phillips, and Jess Gale respectively – whilst Luke Trotman coupled up with Siannise Fudge, newcomer Wallace Wilson chose Rebecca Gormley, and Nas Majeed picked newbie Demi Jones.
‘Love Island’ airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
