James and Ola Jordan never told their parents they were struggling to conceive.
The married couple – who are expecting their first child together – have opened up on their struggles to try and have a baby before opting for IVF which proved to be successful.
However, they kept their fertility problems hidden from their loved ones because they didn’t want to burden their parents with their own baby worries.
Speaking to the panel on ‘Lose Women’ on Tuesday (14.01.20), James confessed: "When we told my parents, they were really tearful about it because they didn’t know.
"If we were gonna tell anyone, we probably would of told our parents but you don’t wanna worry your parents. You get to that age in life where you think, ‘They don’t need more stress, life’s hard enough as it, they’ve got their own issues.’"
Instead, the former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pros would try to avoid any awkward questions, and put it down to timing as they would always be "practising" for routines.
Ola explained: "We used to laugh it off, we used to go, ‘Oh yeah, we’ve got a lot of practising’ but then after a while you go, ‘How much can you practise?’ It’s exhausting."
Eventually, the lovebirds – who have been together for 20 years – decided to open up about their troubles as they soon got upset when people asked them when they would welcome a baby.
James said: "People guessed but that’s the reason we spoke out about having IVF and that we were struggling because we were getting sick of every interview we ever did saying, ‘When are you going to have children?’ It was upsetting every time we spoke about it."
What’s more, despite the tough three-years, James and Ola have grown stronger as they faced everything together.
Ola added: "I think it made us even stronger than we were. We were in it together. We’ve got a strong relationship."
