Lucy Benjamin refuses to rule out EastEnders return after current stint

Lucy Benjamin has refused to rule out another ‘EastEnders’ stint.
The 49-year-old actress returned last year as Lisa Fowler – a role she first played from 2008 to 2003 with brief stints in 2010 and 2017 – and while she is set to leave in 2020, she admitted there’s a possibility of yet another comeback.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (08.01.20), she said: "I don’t even know if I can talk about it! I knew I was going back for a stint, and I’ve completed that stint."
When presenter Phillip Schofield gently pushed for a more firm response, she joked her character "never seems to go away".
Asked about another run in Albert Square, she added: "Well, possibly. Yeah, I mean, it’s so difficult… Lisa never seems to go away."
Lucy admitted feels fortunate to have an arrangement with the soap bosses which lets her come and go when there’s a need for her alter ego to be involved in ongoing plots.
She explained: "I feel really lucky that it happens that way, to be honest, because I do feel like I’ve got the best of both worlds. I get called up and they say, ‘Will you come and do this storyline and be here for x-amount of time’.
"And when they tell me what it involves, I always say ‘yes’ because they give me brilliant stuff to do! And then I’m free to go and do other bits and bobs, so I have a really good time in that respect."
