Iain Stirling worries Laura Whitmore will catch him lying on Love Island

Iain Stirling is worried Laura Whitmore will catch him slacking off during ‘Love Island’ filming
The 31-year-old comedian – who narrates the ITV dating show and has been coupled up with the new host since 2017 – has been keeping a few secrets from his girlfriend whilst he’s away filming, but now she’s replacing Caroline Flack after the presenter stepped down from the role following assault charges, which she has since denied.
Speaking to the panel of ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (03.01.20), Iain fibbed: "I go for a run in the morning… The problem is, I’ve been saying all this to Laura for the last three years. Now, she’ll be in South Africa."
The Scottish star is pleased the ‘Survival of the Fittest’ presenter will be joining him for the first ever Winter edition – which is filmed in Cape Town instead of Majorca – because it means they’ll spend more time together.
When asked if he will see more or less of the Irish star, he replied: "More because she’ll be coming to South Africa every now and again."
The host will fly back and forth between the UK and the villa to present both the main show and the spin off ‘Love Island: Aftersun’, whilst Iain stays out in the heat for two months.
He added: "I’m there the whole time. They take me to a hot country and then put me in a box. I could do it in my shed in my house, but why would I? I wanna go to Spain instead."
Meanwhile, Iain has weighed in on the chances of bringing a same-sex couple on the show.
He said: "Who knows? I find at the minute, the only issue is a case of mathematics because you need people to be coupled up for one person to be out for them to leave. So you need a ratio in some way, but I’m sure there’s a way around that."
