Hollyoaks’ John Paul to confront evil Breda

Hollyoaks’ John Paul McQueen is to confront Breda McQueen when he finds out about her murderous ways.
The teacher – played by James Sutton on the Channel 4 soap – will work out what Breda (Moya Brady) has been up to during her reign of terror when he discovers a box of murder weapons, and while he is in confident mood when he goes to see her, he soon becomes "quite scared" when he realises he could become her latest victim.
James said: "John Paul figures out the truth, and he goes to see Mercedes. He reveals the box of murder weapons and keepsakes that Breda has from her victims, but Mercedes doesn’t believe it!
"She thinks he’s overreacting, and talking nonsense, because Auntie Breda has always been so kind to Mercedes, and to Bobby, so she doesn’t want to believe it."
Asked how he feels when John Paul comes face-to-face with Breda, James added: "Quite scared actually, when it comes down to it.
"He’s very confident going there, but once he’s sat opposite her he realises that he’s in a very dangerous position."
While John Paul is frightened about confronting Breda, James was delighted that he was involved in the plot.
He said: "I am very pleased that John Paul is part of the team taking down Breda.
"[‘Hollyoaks’ producer] Bryan Kirkwood told me that I would be part of the murder solving team when I had a meeting with him, and I was very excited about it."
And the star is pleased to be teaming up with his on-screen half-sister Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) again.
He added: "I love working with Jennifer Metcalfe. She is one of my favourite actresses.
"We have worked together on and off now for about 15 years I think, and we are literally brother and sister, so it is an absolute delight."
James recently admitted he would also love to act alongside Jorgie Porter (Theresa McQueen) again, too.
He said: "I’d bring Theresa back, played by Jorgie Porter, because I love her, so let’s campaign to bring Jorgie Porter back."
