Kym Marsh says 2020 will mark a "new chapter" in her life.
The 43-year-old actress has played Michelle Connor on ‘Coronation Street’ since 2006 and her final episode on the soap is poised to air over the Christmas period – but Kym is already looking forward to the next phase of her career.
Kym – who joined the ITV show after starring in the pop group Hear’Say – explained in OK! magazine: "I’ll try to watch TV over Christmas but I’m usually running around so much on the day, that I barely have time to sit down.
"If I do, I’ll of course tune in to the ‘Coronation Street’ Christmas special.
"My final episode is fast approaching and that’s going to be emotional to watch. Next year is going to be the start of a brand new chapter for me post ‘Coronation Street’. I can’t wait to see what it holds and what new projects I can work on."
Earlier this month, Kym revealed she was "crying on tap" while filming her final ‘Coronation Street’ scenes.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz and other media, Kym said: "It was really emotional and very weird. The week or so leading up to it, that was the worst.
"It was good as I had to film loads of emotional stuff, so crying was not a problem. I was crying on tap.
"My last day was really emotional. My final scene was in The Rovers with the Connors.
"There were speeches and gifts. I was really quite overwhelmed."
