Karim Zeroual’s mother won’t watch him from the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ audience ever again.
The CBBC star’s mum Carol and sister Lianne attended the show at the weekend to support the presenter and his professional partner Amy Dowden, but the emotion of the evening proved to be too much.
After Carol was seen with tears pouring down her face at Karim and Amy’s dance, ‘Strictly – It takes Two’ host Rylan Clark-Neal asked: "What was she like after the show?"
Karim admitted: "She doesn’t wanna come again.
"Literally, her words. She was like, ‘I don’t wanna do this anymore.’ But she was so proud.
"I had to calm her down. Amy kept telling me to go see my mum and I was like, ‘She’s fine, we’ve got a dance to do! Let me get in my zone, she’ll be fine.’
"I love her. She’s my rock, and so’s my sister. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for them."
But Karim was proud to share his contemporary dance with his family because it meant so much to him.
He added: "I went out there, and it wasn’t a performance. It was internal.
"I go out every week and I love to make people happy and be a showman and perform outwards, but this dance was just a highlight for me from my personal journey through life.
"It was a special moment which I could share with everyone."
The pair had been joint top of the leaderboard with 38 but still found themselves in the bottom two alongside Saffron Barker and AJ Pritchard, who were voted off.
However, the couple insisted they are always "prepared" to "fight" in the dance-off.
Amy said: "Well, you’ve got a 50-50 chance of being [in the bottom two] with only six couples left.
"We’ve always been prepared to dance and fight again."
