Jackie Woodburne feels so fortunate to have a "natural rapport" with Alan Fletcher.
The ‘Neighbours’ stars are celebrating 25 years as Karl and Susan Kennedy, and she admits the pair "cannot believe" they have shared the screen for a quarter of a decade.
She said: "It’s been an absolute joyride. We were just talking earlier and saying that neither of us can believe it. 25 years is a long time, but we can both clearly remember our first day on set.
"We were just so lucky to have a natural rapport all together, straight away, which is pretty rare."
And Alan says the pair have been buoyed by the viewers’ support throughout their 25 years, admitting the "biggest compliment" they have received is how much the fans "believe in [them]".
Speaking in a joint interview with Inside Soap magazine, he added: "One thing fans always talk to me about is how much they believe in us.
"When we fight, they believe we’re fighting, when we’re being loving, they believe we’re in love.
"I think that’s the biggest compliment you can be handed as an actor."
Alan recently opened up about the ‘Neighbours’ acting process, admitting half of his and his fellow stars’ work is done before they get on set.
The star – who has played Dr. Karl Kennedy since 1994 – exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Half of our work is actually before we get to set. It’s going through the scripts, talking to each other about the scripts, having a read through with the whole cast, then going to see the directors and the writers and saying, ‘Hey, not sure about this.’ Tweak, tweak, tweak.
"Eventually, you end up on the set and have to very economically and quickly shoot it."
