Tony Hutchinson’s sister will arrive in Hollyoaks and cause havoc

Tony Hutchinson’s troublesome sister is set to make her debut in ‘Hollyoaks’ and "ruffle" a few "feathers" from the start.
The soap will mark its 25th anniversary in 2020, with cast member Nick Pickard (Tony) being central to the storyline, and after the arrival of his supervillain father Edward Hutchinson (Joe McGann), his sibling is set to bring even more trouble to the Chester village next year as she causes problems for the family and other residents.
A source for the show told Digital Spy: "Edward is one of the biggest villains the show has seen – and viewers will discover that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when his daughter joins him in the village.
"The new character will immediately ruffle feathers and create another exciting, fresh dynamic for Tony in the show’s 25th anniversary year.
"With a villainous edge of her own, fans will have to stay tuned to see the trouble that Tony’s sister causes for him, his family and the other residents of the village."
The actress who will portray Tony’s sister is to be revealed in due course.
Edward is due to arrive in Hollyoaks in the coming weeks whilst Tony is still stuck on Breda McQueen’s (Moya Brady) pig farm.
Speaking about Joe’s character Edward, the soap’s boss Bryan Kirkwood previously said: "We’re very lucky to have Joe McGann here. He’s part of the McGann acting dynasty and it’s always a real treat and a pleasure to have someone of that calibre coming into ‘Hollyoaks’ to shake things up.
"Among the talks as we approached the 25th anniversary, we spoke about Tony’s dad.
"He was in the show as an off-screen character for the first few years of ‘Hollyoaks’.
"The character was previously called Brian in the show, so we will acknowledge the fact that he has changed his life. We are paying respect to the character that superfans will remember, so all will become clear when Edward comes on screen."
