Reece Dinsdale ‘never felt more at ease’ with work since axing agents

Reece Dinsdale has been inundated with work requests since axing his acting and directing agents – and wishes he did it "years back".
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who played Joe McIntyre from 2008 to 2010 – made the bold move a couple of weeks ago, and he has "never felt more at ease" about work since after numerous "fine people" asked to team up with him.
He wrote on Twitter: "Coming up to 60, I chose to jettison my acting and directing agents a couple of weeks ago.
"Suddenly I have so many fine people wanting to work with me.
"Wish I’d done it years back. Never felt more at ease."
The 59-year-old star made the move because he was "sick of waiting on others to provide opportunities", but he feels confident he can source enough work because he has a solid contacts book.
He wrote: "Got lots of contacts and it feels good. Sick of waiting on others to provide opportunities. Time to go out and make them. If you don’t take control, this business perpetually leaves you feeling like you’ve just left drama school. Well I’m too old for that. (sic)"
Last week, Reece revealed his father had died, and thanked fans for their "uplifting" messages.
He tweeted: "Recently, when I said I had ‘brilliant followers’… I lied. I have UNBELIEVABLY brilliant followers!!!
Your words of love & support today are as kind & generous as they are uplifting.
Too many to reply to individually, but a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to each and every one of you. x
Having lost my dad yesterday, today I begin shooting my latest ‘Moving On’ drama for @LAProductionsUK and BBC1.
Where I’ll get the strength from, I have no idea… but it was his dying wish that I wasn’t to stop.
I shall do it in his honour and let him carry me through. xxx
Got to get to work now and won’t have time to read all your wonderful messages re my dad.
But I will… I promise!
May your day bring good things. x (sic)"
