Daniel Brocklebank sign new Coronation Street contracts

Daniel Brocklebank and Melanie Hill have signed new ‘Coronation Street’ contracts.
The 39-year-old actor and the 57-year-old star have put pen to paper on new deals to ensure their cobbles characters Billy Mayhew and Cathy Matthews will be sticking around for the foreseeable future.
She told Digital Spy: "I’ve just signed another contract and I’m very happy there."
He added: "I just signed another contract so I will be definitely sticking around for at least another 12 months, yes."
Billy had a tough 2018 when he struggled with a heroin addiction and nearly died after falling off a cliff, but Daniel has teased fans they can expect a "lighter year" for his alter-ego in 2019.
He said: "Without giving too much away, I think it’s going to be a lighter year this year for Billy.
"Obviously last year was quite a dark year with heroin addiction and falling off a cliff, and all the other things that happened to him, so I think we’re looking at a bit more lighter stuff."
And away from Weatherfield, Daniel has lots to look forward to after recently revealing will make his concert debut at the West End Proms this summer.
The star won ITV’s ‘All Star Musicals’ in March with a stunning rendition of ‘From Now On’ from ‘The Greatest Showman’, and he will be part of two specials shows in July performing songs from seven decades of musical theatre.
He said: "I absolutely love performing and I am so excited to make my first stage appearance with West End Proms.
"Winning ‘All Star Musicals’ was a dream come true; I now can’t wait to sing live once again, on stage with this wonderful cast."
The actor will appear during London’s Green Music Time on July 4, and at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on July 5.
