Kieran Culkin and his wife Jazz Charton are expecting their first child.
The 36-year-old actor – who shot to fame as a child star alongside his brother Macaulay Culkin in ‘Home Alone’ as his character Kevin McCallister’s brother Fuller – and his wife announced their happy news by posting their baby’s sonogram on Instagram.
The couple are due to welcome their little bundle of joy into the world in just over four months time and Jazz, who shared the scan on her profile, revealed the pregnancy was a "little unexpected" and admitted they are both feeling "terrified", "unprepared" and "ecstatic" at the same time.
She wrote: "My favourite surprise so far. We had no idea how much we wanted this until it happened. We’re excited/terrified/ecstatic/unprepared but we cannot wait to meet our little unexpected creation in September #theglobeswerefun #koalatummy (sic)"
Just a year ago, Kieran – who has been married to Jazz since 2013 – admitted that starting a family wasn’t "on our horizon".
The ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ star said: "It just seems like a lot to take on.
"I suppose if she gets pregnant, that would be fine but it’s really not on our horizon."
Kieran – who previously dated his ‘Paper Man’ co-star Emma Stone between 2009 and 2011 – met Jazz at a bar in New York when she was with another man and as soon as she said he wasn’t her boyfriend, the pair began dating in early 2013.
He recalled: "I asked if he was her boyfriend and when she said no, I asked if I could be her boyfriend. We’ve been together ever since.
"When someone is as beautiful as my wife, you just want to be close to that."
The couple have had a chance to practice parenthood, as they have two cats, Django and Wily Beans So-Crates.
Kieran is the first of his siblings, Macaulay, Rory Culkin ,29, Quinn Culkin, 34, Christian Culkin, 32, Shane Culkin, 43, to start a family.
Their sister Dakota Culkin tragically died in 2008 at the age of 29.
