Sally Dynevor sticking around on Coronation Street

Sally Dynevor has reassured ‘Coronation Street’ fans she is staying on the soap – after a number of her co-stars announced their departures in recent weeks.
The Weatherfield legend – who has portrayed Sally Metcalfe on the show since 1986 – joked she will nail her feet to the studio floor to ensure she can keep on playing her beloved character, and insists there is no crisis on the cobbles despite there being a number of soon-to-be departees.
She said: "I am so happy.
"Everyone says about all of this, but it’s so not true.
"Everyone is really happy. I don’t know where this story has come from.
"I am nailing my feet to the floor, I’m staying, if that’s OK?"
Sally’s comments come after Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) and Faye Brookes (Kate Connor) all announced they are to leave the soap.
And another star who may be departing Weatherfield soon for a maternity leave stint is Sally’s pregnant on-screen daughter Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster).
She said: "I’m so happy for Brooke. She’ll be such a wonderful mum, it’s something she’s wanted for a long time so I’m really, really happy for her."
Sally’s other on-screen daughter Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster) is currently on maternity leave from the show after giving birth to her second daughter Delilah, who is now 11 months, and Sally believes it "won’t be long" until Helen is back on the cobbles.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’, she added: "She’s gorgeous, I would love her to come back and I’m sure it won’t be long before she’s back on our screens because she’s so good."
Last week, Helen – who also has four-year-old daughter Matilda – admitted she will "definitely" be back in Weatherfield at some point.
She said: "I miss ‘Coronation Street’ so much, and I am definitely am going to go back. Definitely.
"It’s just working it around my girls.
"Matilda is at the stage now where she is four and she needs to be taken to all her lessons and obviously with me living in Scotland it’s a four-hour drive [to Manchester]. Delilah is nearly one.
"But I just love it [‘Corrie’] so much."
