Joe Sugg has landed his first acting gig.
The 27-year-old YouTube star won the hearts of the nation competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ last year, with his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell – who he is dating romantically – and now he’s revealed he’s set to star in the mobile app unrd’s new romantic feature which allows fans to interact with his character’s story.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I am so excited to be acting in my first ever story with unrd.
"It has all of the heart of a traditional love story, set in London, whilst incorporating a new way of storytelling for a digital audience."
The real-time fiction, which sees Joe play the lead part, enables viewers to "live someone else’s life and receive messages, videos, photos and audio messages – and even watch them LIVE on video", according to the app’s website bio.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the popular vlogger has been offered a part in a Broadway show.
The budding actor is said to be wanted for a big production, but that would mean residing in New York and embarking on a long-distance relationship with his 29-year-old girlfriend.
A source sad: "Joe is hot property – there’s been tons of interest in him since ‘Strictly’.
"He’s told friends he would seriously consider a move to the Big Apple, but that could affect him and Dianne.
"He’s very serious about her – but she has other commitments in other countries, it could be tricky.
"He’ll have to think about his plans carefully."
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pair first announced they were in a relationship after the final of the BBC competition, making things official by sharing intimate snaps together over Instagram.
Joe claimed he didn’t mind losing out in the show’s final because finding love was a better prize.
He wrote: "I may not have won the glitter ball, but I’ve won something a million times more special. (sic)"
Hours after the message was posted, the red-headed beauty shared a clip of her new beau serenading her with James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’ in a wooden chalet while surrounded by friends.
The couple’s romance confirmation came after months of speculation that they were dating.
Joe denied the rumours at first, previously saying: "There’s nothing in it. If we were dating, everyone would see it."
