Fred and Rose West documentary cancelled ‘for legal reasons’

‘Fred and Rose West: The Real Story with Trevor McDonald’ was cancelled at the last minute for "legal reasons".
The highly anticipated documentary – which was set to air on ITV at 9pm last night (31.01.19) – was expected to shed new light on the horrific crimes that shocked the nation with the husband and wife pair killing 12 people between 1967 and 1987.
In a statement, a representative for ITV said: "Broadcast has been postponed for legal reasons and the film will be scheduled for a later date."
The programme was replaced by a repeat of ‘Trevor McDonald’s Death Row’.
‘The Real Story’ was due to see Trevor revisit the couple’s infamous ‘house of horrors’ at 25 Cromwell Street, which has now been torn down.
Trevor spoke to a former West lodger for the film, as well as one of the killers’ family members and even the sister of one of their victims.
The postponement of the show followed the first-ever TV interview from victim Juanita Mott’s sisters, with her sibling Mary-Ann Mitchell calling for Rose to "rot in hell", while Belinda Mott feels Rose deserves a "very slow electric chair".
Speaking on ‘This Morning’ yesterday, Mary-Ann said: "I’d like to see her rot in hell to be honest. I hope when her girlfriend is released from prison it rips her heart out.
"She will never get out and even if she does there will be a queue waiting. This is where I feel the death penalty is needed when there is no doubt."
