The Jump axed

‘The Jump’ has been axed.
The Channel 4 reality show – in which contestants compete in a host of winter sports, including a ski jump – was "rested" last winter and the break will continue in 2019, after numerous celebrities got injured while competing on the programme over its four series.
When asked if the show is returning, Channel 4 boss Ian Katz told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "You can never say never, but we’ve got no plans."
Earlier this month, Beth Tweddle revealed she is suing ‘The Jump’ after a horror injury in 2016, in which she fractured two vertebrae, left her temporarily unable to walk.
The defendants involved have so far denied all liability for her injuries.
In a statement, she said: "It’s been a long journey and my recovery is still ongoing. I’m not sure I’ll ever be 100 per cent again.
"The effects of my accident still interrupt my daily life and, aside from the severe physical injuries at the start, the hardest part of the recovery process has been the psychological element – dealing with and processing the whole accident and the aftermath of what happened."
The incident occurred during ski training for the reality show when the 33-year-old gymnast smashed into barriers while practicing a jump, resulting in her breaking her neck.
Similarly, Holby City’s Tina Hobley dislocated her elbow and suffered two fractures to her arm in 2016, and in 2017 cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins broke his leg.
