Danny DeVito to present prize at National Television Awards

Danny DeVito is to present a prize at the National Television Awards.
The Hollywood actor – who is known for films such as ‘Matilda’, ‘Twins’ and ‘Batman Returns’ – will head to London next week to hand out an NTAs gong to the winner of the Drama category, which will see ‘Our Girl’ battle it out with ‘Call The Midwife’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Peaky Blinders’, and ‘Doctor Who’.
A backstage source told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "Bagging Danny is a real coup for the show.
"He’s a massive fan of the UK and loves a lot of the dramas in the awards category.
"He’s excited about being the guest of honour on the night."
NTAs fans are in for an additional treat at next Tuesday’s (22.01.19) ceremony as organisers have confirmed Westlife will perform ‘Hello My Love’, which will be broadcast live on ITV.
The fourpiece will sing the iTunes chart-topping song – which was been written by pop star Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac – live for the first time at the spectacle.
There could be another first the day after the ceremony as ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host Susanna Reid has vowed to present the show drunk if the programme scoops an NTA in the Daytime Show category.
Discussing the nomination with her co-presenter Piers Morgan, Susanna – who has been alcohol-free for six months – recently said: "That night, if we win, I will drink."
Piers replied: "This is great, if you vote for us, and we win, Susanna Reid will break her alcohol-free [diet] – which has now been going on for about six months.
"And trust me, when she is drunk she is a live one."
She said: "I will get absolutely hammered."
Piers then asked: "Will you come here and present the show drunk?"
When Susanna answered with a definitive yes, Piers cheered and applauded the comment.
He declared: "Susanna Reid will come in her evening attire, fresh from the NTA after-party, if we win, and present the show drunk.
"I am normally half-drunk anyway so it makes no difference to me but she doesn’t drink."
The National Television Awards will air on ITV from 7.30pm on Tuesday.
