Kym Marsh will be known as "luscious Lolly" when she becomes a grandparent.
The 42-year-old actress can’t wait for her 21-year-old daughter Emilie Cunliffe to give birth to her first grandchild, but insists she doesn’t want to be known as "grandma" or "nanny", so she has chosen the name Lolly instead.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she said: "I’m really excited about being a grandparent but there’s no way I’m being a grandma, or granny, nanny or any of those things.
"We looked on a website and found alternative names and I’m going to be Lolly."
‘This Morning’ co-host Eamonn Holmes then said: "Lolly – you certainly will be the most glamorous granny out there. A luscious Lolly."
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress replied: "Luscious Lolly? I’m going with that one."
Kym joked she "forced" her daughter to undergo a pregnancy test after Emilie let slip that she was late and had a stomach ache while she was "casually" doing her mum’s nails one day.
The ‘Corrie’ star – who gave birth to Emilie’s brother David Cunliffe, 23, when she was 19 – said: "She just dropped it into conversation while she was casually doing my nails one day.
"She said, ‘I have a bit of a tummy ache but I’m late,’ and I was like, ‘How late?’ And she was like, ‘Well, so many weeks.’
"And I was like, ‘Emilie, do you not think we should do a test?’ But she was scared. So I kind of forced her."
Emilie added: "It sounds really strange but the house we had at the time had this downstairs bathroom and it sounds like you locked me in like a ‘Harry Potter’ cloakroom.
"We did this test and immediately she looked at my belly and went, ‘Hello.’ "
Singer Emilie admitted was shocked to discover she was expecting, but she cannot wait for her new arrival.
She added: "It was such a shock at first. The initial thought of being pregnant is so scary.
"But once I got past the scary part we were well up for it."
