Mark Jordon and Laura Norton are engaged.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who plays Daz Spencer on the ITV soap – has popped the question to his co-star (Kerry Wyatt), admitting he was "elated to have heard the word ‘yes" from her, after a mixed 2018.
He wrote on Twitter: "Well 2018 had some of the highest highs and the lowest lows. Really got to feel the love of true friends . Feel blessed by the support of my children and elated to have heard the word "yes " from the most beautiful woman in the world (sic)"
Mark and Laura’s happy news comes less than a month after he pleaded not guilty to attacking a pensioner.
He appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester in December where he denied wounding and common assault following an alleged incident on July 1 in Oldham, north west England.
The 53-year-old actor was granted bail by judge Mark Savill until his trial, which is scheduled to take place on July 29 next year. Mark was previously charged with grievous bodily harm and assault.
A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman recently said: "Mark Jordon of Tamewater Court, Oldham, has been charged with GBH and section 39 common assault."
Laura recently admitted she and Mark like to watch Netflix shows of an evening to "get ideas of how to play things" when they are acting.
She said: "There was a day recently where we had 15 scenes to do in the Spencer house, and they were all quite emotional.
"By the end of it, I couldn’t see straight.
"I usually go home and put on Netflix. Mark and I will watch something with a similar sort of story so we can get ideas of how to play things."
The pair’s news comes after their fellow ‘Emmerdale’ co-star Fiona Wade (Priya Sharma) got engaged to her former co-star Simon Cotton (Hugh Bryant) in late December.
