Mark Jordon denies attacking pensioner

Mark Jordon has pleaded not guilty to attacking a pensioner.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who plays Daz Spencer in the ITV soap – appeared at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester today (10.12.18), where he denied wounding and common assault following an alleged incident on July 1 in Oldham, north west England.
The 53-year-old star was granted bail by judge Mark Savill until his trial, which is scheduled to take place on July 29 next year.
Mark was previously charged with grievous bodily harm and assault.
A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman recently said: "Mark Jordon of Tamewater Court, Oldham, has been charged with GBH and section 39 common assault.
"He will appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court on November 8."
Mark – who played Graham Naisby in two episodes of ‘Coronation Street’ in 2014 – appeared as Daz in 2014 before taking on the role on a regular basis in ‘Emmerdale’ in 2017.
Before appearing in the Dales, he was known for his role as PC Phil Bellamy in police drama series ‘Heartbeat’ from 1992 to 2007.
He also reprised his role in ‘Heartbeat’ spin-off show ‘The Royal’, and has played police officers in episodes of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and ‘Earthfasts’.
Mark is dating his fellow ‘Emmerdale’ star Laura Norton, who plays Kerry Wyatt on the ITV soap.
The actor recently admitted he loved being in family drama ‘Heartbeat’, but enjoyed his character being on the other side of the law in ‘Emmerdale’ earlier this year, after Daz was taken away by police for questioning over the disappearance of character Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).
He told BANG Showbiz: "They’re both such delightful jobs. I think the story is really good in this and there is such intrigue over why the police have interest in Daz, so I’m very keen to show this."
