RuPaul’s Drag Race UK coming to BBC Three

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is launching its first ever UK version on BBC Three.
The British edition of the the hit show is already looking for homegrown drag queens to star in the upcoming eight part series, and it’s set to put a whole new twist on the worldwide sensation.
Creator RuPaul Charles said: "I am beyond excited to celebrate the massive charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Queen’s queens.
"And before anyone asks, yes, we would be thrilled to have Meghan Markle join us, as we are already preparing a ‘Royal-Mother-To-Be’ runway challenge."
Meanwhile, it’s said Beeb bosses plan to follow a similar format to the US show, complete with the occasional British twist and some celebrity guests.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "This is a massive coup for the Beeb as lots of other UK channels wanted this show. It will follow the exact same format as the American version with British twists and some famous guests.
"It will be filmed in London and casting directors will be searching for the best drag artists Britain has to offer – there’ll be a huge budget for costumes and production and bosses are hoping that a star is born.
"It’s really exciting for everyone involved and is expected to draw a lot of new fans to the franchise. ‘RuPaul’ has a cult following so it’s massive news."
The news comes after Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato – who co-founded production company World of Wonder – hinted over summer that a UK version was on its way.
They teased that "something is coming", while Bailey quipped: "Be afraid – be very afraid. Nothing’s impossible."
