Jake Quickenden kept sneaking out to the pub when he was supposed to be on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ lockdown.
The former ‘X Factor’ star finished as runner-up in the 14th series of the reality show in 2014, but after landing in Australia he managed to escape from his holding hotel for secret pub trips before he entered the jungle.
He said: "You’re supposed to be in lockdown, but it depends who you get looking after you. I was in the pub most of the time.
"I could sneak out of my room, I did alright.
"I went in about three or four days late so I didn’t even know when I was going in. I was just in my hotel room and you get a knock at the door and they’re like, ‘Come on.’ And they gave me my hat and I was like, ‘Oh this is getting real now.’ "
But Jamie Lomas – who appeared on the same series – had no such luck making it to the boozer.
He added: "I was in my room and the girl [‘I’m A Celeb’ crew member] was in the next room, and if I tried to sneak out she would be out of the door, ‘Where are you going?’
"They take your phone off you, it’s like being a kid."
Jake also managed to sneak some snacks out of the hotel room for his time in the jungle, and revealed he had a calorific treat in his pocket when he met fellow campmate Edwina Currie.
He said: "Who would’ve known I’d be friends with Edwina Currie? We met each other and neither of us knew each other. But it was like, ‘I like you.’
"I was eating so much before I went in, I was just like, ‘I’m just going to get everything.’
"I think when I met Edwina I had a Snickers in my pocket. I stole it out of the mini bar. I had it in my pocket when I met her."
Former ‘Hollyoaks’ star Jamie admitted there were some tough times in the jungle, and he didn’t eat for 10 days while Down Under.
Speaking in a joint interview with Jake on ‘Lorraine’, he added: "I went 10 days without eating. I lost two stone when I was in there."
