Bob Cryer ‘really sad’ about Hollyoaks exit

Bob Cryer is "really sad" to be leaving ‘Hollyoaks’.
The actor’s alter-ego Glenn Donovan bowed out of the Channel 4 soap in last night’s (16.10.18) E4 episode when Grace Black (Tamara Wall), Simone Loveday (Jacqueline Boatswain), Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), and Courtney Campbell (Amy Conachan) took inspiration from Agatha Christie’s ‘Murder on The Orient Express’ and poured poison into his drink, meaning they were all equally responsible.
The act trigged Glenn to have a fatal heart attack – and Bob is now looking forward to watching the "thrilling aftermath" of the plot play out from the comfort of his own sofa.
He said: "I’ve had the most fantastic year on the show. The people who make the show do it with such love and passion that I’ll be really sad to say goodbye.
"I can’t wait to sit back and watch my brilliant friends play out what is going to be a thrilling aftermath to his exit."
While Bob is sad to depart ‘Hollyoaks’, he knew Glenn’s reign of terror – which included killing his eldest son Adam Donovan (Jimmy Essex) – would come to a grizzly end eventually.
He said: "Glenn couldn’t get away with it forever, could he? He closed the door on everyone who mattered, so ultimately there was no way out for him."
The evil gangster’s death will come as a great delight to Grace as Bob recently hinted his alter-ego might ensure she meets her maker.
He said: "Everything is possible after you’ve killed your eldest son. Grace is very well aware that she isn’t protected either.
"It will always come back to the love story between Glenn and Grace so she will always be central to his fate.
"He will always want her close and the weakness for him is that he genuinely loves her. That’s where he will make his mistake, in his love for Grace.
"Part of the attraction from Glenn to Grace is that he knows how dangerous she is. Everyone’s definition of love is different and in this case it was a meeting of equals but in the laws of the jungle there can only be one king."
