Nigella Lawson sleeps in two-hour bursts so she can drink tea regularly.
The 58-year-old television chef has a very strict, yet sparse, bedtime regime because she prefers to catnap throughout the day and hit the hay at 7:30pm so that she can get up throughout the night and stock up on the hot beverage.
Speaking during a Q&A in London earlier this week, she said: "What I like a lot about getting older is you don’t feel embarrassed about going to bed early. I’m like, ‘When can I lie down next?’ That’s all I think about really.
"I would very happily go to bed at 7.30pm. I’m not sleeping. I don’t do much but I need to be lying down. I think that in a way is a wonderful state to be in.
"I need time to wind down and that takes its own time. I make myself cups of tea as well. I sleep in only two-hour bursts and not many of them."
The brunette beauty – who has children Cosima, 24, and Bruno, 22, with the late John Diamond – is regularly praised for her killer curves and ample assets on screen, but she has admitted she’s sometimes mistaken for being pregnant.
She said: "I’ve had people offer me a seat thinking I am pregnant when I am not."
But that’s not the only time Nigella has been left red faced as she once got a fit of giggles in the middle of a funeral and found it very "difficult" to stop.
According to The Sun Online, she explained: "When it’s a funeral of someone you don’t really know, you’re like, ‘Oh, it feels fine’, but you know you’re not meant to laugh. Like someone who your heart is not breaking over. I just know there has to be a funny vicar. I feel very panicked. I get the giggles in inappropriate times. And then I must try and think of people I mind hadn’t died.
"Once you get the giggles it’s very difficult to stop. It’s horrible."
