Lil Xan’s tattoo tribute to Mac Miller

Lil Xan has had a tribute to Mac Miller tattooed on his face.
The 22-year-old rapper was left heartbroken when his "hero" died on Friday (07.09.18) following an apparent overdose and he’s had a new inking over his right eyebrow to honour his friend.
The tattoo is of the Latin phrase "Memento Mori", which translates as "Remember that you will die".
He shared a photo of his new body art on Instagram and wrote: "MOMENTO MORI [broken heart emoji]. Miss you Mac, y’all can start hating me now."
A number of commenters on the post criticised the tattoo but Xan – who has several other inkings on his face – defended his decision to make himself look "ugly".
Showing off another new facial tattoo, of liquid dripping under his right eye, he posted: "I do this for me.
"I could care less if this makes me ugly because that’s what I was going for, Ugly is the new beautiful, well not really but there’s some truth to that, I love you guys [broken heart emoji] (sic)"
Following Mac’s death, the ‘Betrayed’ rapper – whose real name is Diego Leanos – admitted the tragedy had made him want to quit music.
He said: "The Mac s**t is crazy.
"I’ve been crying in my apartment, Mac didn’t die, Mac didn’t overdose…
"When your hero dies, f**k that s**t, I don’t want to make music no more… [I’m] retiring after this contract."
Xan recalled the last time he saw Mac, at his last show, which was the "third or fourth time" they had hung out together, but there’s one memory that will always stay with him.
He explained: "Before I left, he was like ‘Be safe.’ People say that you know, like ‘be safe.’ But he grabbed me, and he pulled me back and he was like ‘No I mean BE SAFE.’ That almost made me cry, that’s my idol right there.
"I keep thinking about that, how it resonated in my head, how those were his last words."
