Lucy Fallon wants to follow in Suranne Jones’ career footsteps.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star – who plays Bethany Platt in the ITV soap – looks up to the former ‘Corrie’ star, who portrayed Karen McDonald from 2000 to 2004, and sees her as a "well respected woman" as well as a top TV star.
She said: "I look up to Suranne Jones just because she was in Corrie and now she’s doing amazing dramas. I think she’s so good.
"I feel like outside of all the stuff she does you see her as a well-respected woman. You see her as an actress, not just a celebrity."
Lucy is also keen to follow in Madonna’s footsteps by landing the role of Argentine political leader Eva Perón/ Evita, who was played by the pop star in the 1996 movie of the same name.
She added: "I think my dream role would be Evita in ‘Evita’.
"I’d also like to play the lead girl from ‘Miss Saigon’, but I’m not Vietnamese so maybe not. Maybe in another life."
However, Lucy is not departing Weatherfield just yet and is contracted until February.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I’m really happy where I am at the moment.
"I’ll be there definitely until February next year and then it’ll have been four years."
However, Lucy recently hinted she could depart the cobbles soon.
When asked how long she plans to stay on the show in June, she said: "As long as they’ll have me! Hopefully they won’t kill me off, but you just don’t know – it could be six months and I’m gone."
