EastEnders’ Hayley Slater’s baby secret to be exposed

EastEnders’ Hayley Slater’s baby secret is set to be exposed after she’s involved in a motorbike crash.
The conniving con artist – played by Katie Jarvis – has been trying to hide the fact she’s pregnant with Kat Moon’s estranged husband Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) baby for the past month, but it looks like her big affair is set to come out once and for all after she’s rushed to hospital following a motorcycle accident.
Next week’s episode will see Hayley and Kat (Jessie Wallace) take their new motorbike out for a road test, but things go horribly wrong when the girls come off it and the new bad girl ends up taking a funny turn.
Hayley, who is accompanied to the hospital by Kat, is forced to tell the nurses that she is pregnant and her big secret looks set to be exposed when the medical staff tell her that she’s clear and free to leave.
And it looks like the baby shock could pave the way for Shane’s permanent return, as he hinted a few months back that his one-episode return in May was not the "last" fans would see of him this year.
He said: "I think when you see tonight’s it actually raises more questions, so this is certainly not the last you will see of Alfie. But I can’t say any more than that.
"Kat and Alfie have so much history and you can’t have one without the other, but at the same time they often can’t live together. What’s interesting is after we learn what went on in Spain, which the audience have wanted to know, where the characters go next remains to be seen."
Alfie’s return was kept firmly under wraps by ‘EastEnders’ bosses after Shane met with executive producer John Yorke about a comeback, and the producers went to extreme lengths to ensure nobody knew he was back.
Shane explained: "We had code names, censored scripts, cars with blacked out windows.
"Obviously John and the team wanted to keep it a surprise for everyone.
"It was exciting to be back at Elstree, especially without anyone knowing."
