Lisa Riley is asked to return to ‘Emmerdale’ "all the time".
The 42-year-old actress – who portrayed Mandy Dingle from 1995 to 2001 – has no immediate plans to return to the Dales but finds it flattering to be asked by producers and former co-star Dominic Brunt, who plays her former on-screen husband Paddy Kirk, to make a comeback.
She said: "They ask me to come back all the time.
"It’s great, and Dominic Brunt desperately wants me to.
"Maybe one day, when I’m 60…
"But being an actor is like putting a new Worzel Gummidge head on – I like playing lots of roles now."
However, the ‘Loose Women’ panellist is open to joining another ITV soap.
She said: "I’d go on ‘Corrie’ if they asked – I’d love to be Norris’ naughty niece."
For now, Lisa is busy playing tattoo artist Tina in new BBC drama ‘Age Before Beauty’ and she got hands on in her research for the role.
She added to Closer magazine: "I spent an entire day at a tattoo salon in Hastings with a female body artist.
"She taught me how to hold the gun and stretch the skin too.
"I did everything, just without the needle…"
Despite being away from the village for nearly 17 years, Lisa previously admitted she is still recognised for her role as Mandy as far afield as Mexico.
She said: "She’s still talked about wherever I go, though. I flew back from Mexico last year and the two guys that were sitting behind me started singing ‘Mandy’ by Barry Manilow.
"Everybody still talks about her food wagon, Mandy’s Munchbox – it’ll go down in history."
