Janet Street-Porter is returning to ‘Loose Women’ next Tuesday (24.07.18) following her knee replacement surgery.
The 71-year-old presenter has been on a break from the ITV daytime show after going under the knife to get her "worn out" joint repaired.
Janet made an appearance via video call on the programme on Friday (20.07.18) to tell the panel her limb is healing well and as she is up and walking about and she’ll be coming into the studio next week to share her forthright opinions with the viewers.
Janet boasted she was out of her hospital bed just two hours after the surgery had been completed because didn’t want to pee in a potty.
She said: "I’m fine, it went really, really well. I was up walking two hours after the operation. I don’t do potties!
"I want to thank everyone for all the messages I’ve had on Twitter and email, it’s been lovely. I’m doing exercises every hour of every day and I’m sick of it!
"I’m hoping to be back next Tuesday, I’m up walking about and I’ve not used a stick once! I’m like the $60 million woman!"
Janet also couldn’t wait to get out of hospital and back home with her long-term partner Peter Spanton and their pet dog because she couldn’t eat the terrible food on offer on the ward.
She added: "On the hospital menu they had something called bubble and squeak risotto. I complained to everyone about the food."
Although Janet is has been doing her rehabilitation exercises and has been walking unaided she has not been fit enough to take her dog for a walk and the mutt has been moaning at her.
She said: "My dog is a bit miserable because I haven’t taken him for many walks. The weather has been great, but the dog’s moaning has not been great. I’ve never spent so much time with a dog, it’s my partner’s dog and I’m sick of him."
