Tom Cruise is a very naughty boy, says Simon Pegg

Simon Pegg says Tom Cruise is a "very naughty boy".
The 48-year-old actor stars alongside Tom, 56, in ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ and Simon has hailed his co-star’s bravery, saying he showed no fear whatsoever when it came to performing his own stunts in the latest instalment in the money-spinning film franchise.
Speaking about the Hollywood icon – who suffered a broken ankle while shooting a scene in London – Simon explained: "It’s always stressful. On this film in particular.
"On ‘Ghost Protocol’ when he did Burj Khalifa stunt there was a sense of like, ‘Ooh, this is exciting’.
"And then on the A400 plane that he hung onto in ‘Rogue Nation’ it was more of a quiet kind of, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’
"And on this one, there were multiple times when I flat out just said, ‘Are you genuinely going to this, because this isn’t entirely safe.’"
But Simon admitted his co-star simply wasn’t interested in listening to reason and was instead determined to perform his own stunts, regardless of how dangerous they seemed to be.
He told Sky News: "He was just so dedicated to bringing it. And giving the audience the sense of authenticity that you don’t get from films where it’s all done in special effects.
"We just had to lump it. You can’t say no to him. It’s difficult. You try and tell him not to do something and he’ll just do it anyway. He’s a very naughty boy."
Meanwhile, Simon recently claimed that Tom is a misunderstood character.
Simon explained: "People are quick to want to denigrate him, but there is a complexity to him. He is way more than just a mad alien.
"The weird thing about that couch-jumping thing [in 2005, Tom proved his love for Katie Holmes by leaping on Oprah Winfrey’s sofa] is that it came about when YouTube first appeared and so people leapt on it.
"He was just being a bit of a k**b, that was all. But people want more dirt and horror than that."
