Howard Donald lands motoring show

Howard Donald is to front a new motoring show for Channel 4.
The Take That singer is teaming up with retired racing driver Dario Franchitti, 45, for ‘Mission Ignition’, a four-part series of 60 minute episodes.
The programme will see two classic cars taken to pieces and 50-year-old Howard – who worked as a panel beater and vehicle sprayer before joining Take That – and Dario then have to work to put them back together with a team of amateur car enthusiasts.
The first team to rebuild their car will be allowed to keep the vehicle.
Howard said: "I’ve always loved classic cars, so the opportunity to be involved in ‘Mission Ignition’ and see these historic cars rebuilt is fantastic."
Channel 4 bosses hope landing the ‘Never Forget’ singer for the show will attract viewers that wouldn’t normally be interested in motoring programming.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Producers know that it’s a real coup to get a big name like Howard on board and it will attract a lot of new viewers who might not usually be drawn to car shows.
"Along with the tension and drama of the build, Mission Ignition will also take a nostalgic journey through the history of the cars celebrating the ingenuity of these fantastic machines.
"Howard is chuffed to be involved because it for him it’s a genuine passion project."
The 50-year-old singer teased on Twitter earlier this week that he had a new project in the pipeline.
Howard told his fans on Wednesday (04.07.18) he’d had to get up early, despite celebrating England’s win over Colombia the evening before, and promised to shave his testicles if his country triumph over Sweden on Saturday (07.07.18).
He posted: "Woke up at 6.30 today as I’m working on an exciting series for @Channel4
"Did we really win on penalties last night??????!!
"I really hope it does come home,if it does I will shave my balls live on @instagram
"Even if we get to the semis (sic)"
