Sarah Jayne Dunn is focusing on the "great storylines" she has coming up on ‘Hollyoaks’, rather than planning to have more kids.
The 36-year-old actress tied the knot with her husband Jon Smith – who she has 23-month-old son Stanley with – in May but the newlyweds are not thinking about trying for another baby for the time being.
She said: "Neither of us are ready yet. We both want another one if that allows, but post-wedding we’re just focusing on getting our lives back into order, and I’ve got some great storylines coming up on ‘Hollyoaks’."
Sarah returned to the Channel 4 soap in July 2017, and believes resuming her career "really helped" her son because he is now "independent".
Speaking about mums being criticised for going on holiday, she said: "Your gut instinct is that you shouldn’t leave your child and obviously you pine for them, but I think it’s important for them as well as you.
"With going back to work, Stanley went to nursery when he was about 10 months old and it’s really helped him. He’s such an independent little boy now. And you shouldn’t feel guilty for finding yourself again."
Prior to tying the knot, Sarah hit the gym hard and dropped three dress sizes, but admitted she hadn’t set out to do so.
She added to OK! magazine: "I was quite happy being a ten before I was pregnant and after having Stanley I was a 12.
"I’m a six now. But that was never my goal – as part and parcel of losing fat as you train and eat healthily, that just happens."
Sarah and Jon’s one-eyed dog acted as their ring bearer during their nuptials, but their pet pooch nearly lost the bands.
The couple married at The Holford Estate in Cheshire, north west England, and guests couldn’t help but laugh when their canine pal Ming Ming, who looked the part in a pink gown, was led down the aisle by the personal trainer’s best man, but she was nearly in the dog house.
Jon said: "She’s like our first child so we had to get her involved. She’s a one-eyed pug, which is totally ridiculous, so we thought it’d be fun.
"She did a great job, although I’m glad I didn’t know she’d nearly lost the rings until after the ceremony."
