Danny Dyer ‘feared’ for daughter Dani on Love Island

Danny Dyer didn’t want his daughter Dani Dyer to go on ‘Love Island’ – but is now backing her to go all the way on the show.
The ‘EastEnders’ actor is confident the aspiring actress will triumph on the ITV2 show, but was "fearful" of the programme when she told him she was going to star on the series, which is synonymous with wannabe reality stars coupling up and having sex on TV.
He said: "I didn’t want her to do it. I’d never seen it before… you fear it as a father.
"It’s a nutty thing. It is what it is. It’s a game show.
"Fifty grand’s at stake – that’s a lot of dough. And Dani’s gonna win it."
Danny admits he "struggled" watching the show at first but "can’t moan" about his 21-year-old daughter’s conduct on the programme.
He said: "Listen, all I can speak for is my daughter. They are not all idiots one of them is an A&E doctor … at the end of the day it was her decision.
"She’s a grown adult, a smart kid. You don’t teach your children what to think, only how to think. I’m a very liberal parent. She’s gone on there and spun it right round.
"I can’t moan as a father. She hasn’t put a foot wrong. Me and my wife are like parents of the year. We are watching it unfold.
"I did struggle at first but as it’s gone on, I think what’s she’s done, is that she’s proved you can be a decent girl, with dignity … and still be loved and adored by young people. She has completely spun it on its head. I have to trust her choices."
Danny – who also has daughter Sunnie, 11, and five-year-old son Arty with wife Joanne Mas – feels as though he’s done well when he watches Dani on the show.
Speaking on last night’s (28.06.18) inaugural episode of ‘Good Evening Britain’, he added: "I feel watching my Dani, I’ve not done too bad.
"We’ve banged out a decent human being. It’s a mad game, the old showbusiness game."
