Coronation Street’s David Platt set for more agony as rapist Josh Tucker returns

David Platt is set for fresh agony when his rapist Josh Tucker returns in ‘Coronation Street’.
The damaged hairdresser – played by Jack P. Shepherd – was sent in a spiral of depression when he was drugged and sexually assaulted by the vindictive personal trainer (Ryan Clayton) earlier this year, but his world is set to be turned upside down once again when the predator returns to the cobbles – despite claiming he would vanish for good a few weeks ago.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Josh’s return isn’t going to be anything what fans would expect. When he left Weatherfield he planned to leave for good, but in ‘Corrie’ things don’t always go to plan and it won’t necessarily be his choice to return."
However, David may have made a rod for his own back as it’s believed he’s the one who brings Josh back to the street as he’s adamant he won’t get away for his repeated crimes.
The insider explained: "David doesn’t want Josh to get away with what he’s done.
"He knows that Josh has attacked other men in the same way and he feels a responsibility to stop him from doing it again. The police couldn’t prove anything but that’s not going to stop David from trying to stop Josh himself."
It’s believed David will also turn to reformed vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) in a bid to plot a "really interesting" comeuppance for Josh and, although bosses have assured viewers that the tormentor will face justice for what he’s done, his pay back may not be legal.
Meanwhile, Jack has taken on some big plots in his 18 years on the cobbles as David – including surviving serial killer Richard Hillman (Brian Capron), attempted murder, and watching his wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) die in his arms – but he has admitted would have fled the cobbles long ago if he had just been downing drinks in the Rovers Return.
He said recently: "I wouldn’t have stayed if all I was having to do was turn up at the pub and order a pint. But, in my head, he’s a victim of all the things that have happened to him in the past. It’s all led to the place where he is today."
